Toddler's growth and development is a very important thing we have to know froum our toddler. When it is not satisfactory, perhaps your child is experiencing developmental delay as a result of some genetic or environmental condition. It is generraly known that most child starts toddling between the ages of 9 and 15 months. Thus, the child is perhaps having some developmental problems if this does not occur even after the first 15 months. And it is highly important to remember that many factors can cause problems in your toddler's growth and development.
Eating Habits
Food plays quite a main principle in the toddler’s life. It provides him with the necessary materials, vitamins to be able to grow, physically as well as mentally. Toddlers often get picky, they sometimes refuse to eat. But the toddler's growth and development will not be satisfactory if they do not eat enough or eat too much unhealthy or junk food. However, there is no specific toddler food. They can eat a lot of things. Simply prepared food with only little seasoning is preferable.
Always keep in mind that a toddler only eats ½ or even ¼ of what adults eat and thus do not make him eat more. In
most cases, he will eat as much as he likes. Providing the suitable food in a pleasant environment can support your toddler's growth and development.
Sleep
Besides eating habits, sleep can also be a significant effect for your toddler's growth and development. He will not have enough energy during the day if he does not sleep enough. He will get tired and aggressive and this will have a bad effect on his mental and physical development as well. Toddlers need lots of sleep, in the form of daytime naps and sleeps during the night. It will assure healthy of the toddler growth and development.
Play
Play is definitely important in the child's life. It helps him develop his mental skills, his imagination and creativity. If he can play and process the things that happen to him in the world, during this play, then he will be able to understand the world around him more. Play will also teach him how to interact socially with other children. Physical activity, jumping, or running in his playing time will develop his physical skills. This is what makes play as an essential part of a child's life. It gives a significant contribution to the toddler's growth and development.
